Breakfast just rolled in wearing fuzzy slippers and smelling like a citrus dream.Β
This isnβt your average sleepy Saturday French toast. The rich, buttery goodness of Blood Orange Infused Olive Oil gives every bite a bright little zing that tastes like brunch at a beach house you definitely canβt afford... but somehow still ended up invited to. Add powdered sugar, warm cinnamon vanilla sweetness, and fresh fruit, and suddenly your kitchen feels like a tiny cafΓ© with better coffee and fewer people judging your pajama pants.
Perfect for lazy weekends, brunch with the girls, or those mornings when cereal simply isnβt emotionally supportive enough.
Ingredients
- 1 cup half & half
- 4 to 5 tbsp Blood Orange Infused Olive Oil, divided
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp French Toast Sugar Shaker
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Bean Infused Sea Salt
- 1/2 Italian baguette, sliced into 8 to 10 thick pieces
Optional Toppings
- Powdered sugar
- French Toast Sugar Shaker (Cinnamon and Vanilla goodness)
- Fresh berries or sliced fruit
- Maple syrup
Directions
- In a wide shallow dish, whisk together the half & half, 1 tablespoon Blood Orange Olive Oil, eggs, French Toast Sugar Shaker, and Vanilla Bean Sea Salt.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the remaining Blood Orange Olive Oil.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, soaking about 15 seconds per side so it gets perfectly custardy without turning into breakfast soup.
- Working in batches so the pan doesnβt become a chaotic bread traffic jam, cook each slice for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crisp around the edges.
- Keep warm under foil or in a low oven while finishing the remaining slices.
- Serve warm with a snowfall of powdered sugar, a sprinkle of Cinnamon Vanilla Sugar Shaker, and fresh fruit piled high like youβre hosting a brunch magazine cover shoot.
Tips & SwapsΒ
- Brioche or challah bread makes this extra decadent.
- Want a richer citrus flavor? Add a tiny splash of orange juice or orange zest to the egg mixture.
- Pair with crispy bacon for that sweet-and-savory breakfast magic.
- Leftovers make a dangerously good midnight snack straight from the fridge. No judgment here.
